Dr. Kerstin Brixius
Specialist Solicitor on Medical Law
After her studies of law at the University of Trier Kerstin Brixius earned her doctoral degree by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Peter Bülow, holder of the chair for civil and commercial law as well as for German and European economic and fiscal law at the University of Trier, and legal expert for advertising regulations regarding health care products. Dr. Brixius began her professional career as a legal consultant and data protection commissioner at the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), the supreme federal authority responsible for granting marketing authorisations. She was appointed as legal expert during the EU-Enlargement negotiations for the accession to the EU of the Eastern European countries held in Poland. In 2004 she founded her own law firm in Bonn focusing on legal consultancy for the pharmaceutical industry.
Dr. Kerstin Brixius participates regularly to various events as a special referee; she is a visiting lecturer of the research department for pharmaceutical law at the Philipps University of Marburg. Dr. Kerstin Brixius is regularly publishing in different journals and she edited numerous monographs. She is also a member of the licensing committee at the German Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BPI).
Dr. Brixius joined the partnership Kanzlei am Ärztehaus in 2007. Since then she provides together with lawyers Alexander Maur, Dr. iur. Stefan Schmidt and Andreas Frohn the pharmaceutical industry with extensive legal advice. She is based in Cologne.
Kerstin Brixius is married and mother of a little boy.
